Sorry for the ambiguity in the thread's tittle but here is the deal:As an example say you are from Oregon and you have lived all your life in Oregon etc, etc, now lets also say that the state of Oregon decides to have a plebiscite to amend it's constitution one way or another. Now all of a sudden a lot of people begin to appear out of the woodwork that do not live in Oregon, have never lived or even have any intention of living in Oregon but for some unexplained sniglet of the universe they think that because their grandfathers or great grandfathers etc whatever were born there entitles them to decide Oregon's future! Now what would you say to them? If the answer is a big F*CK OFF now you now how we feel ourselves whenever we hear so called "Boricuas" which happen to be so out being second or even third generation think they are entiled to dictate to us that do live here that we should be an independent republic! Yes most of the proindepedence movement does not even live on the Island nor does it have any intentions too! Anyway I just wanted to share with the fellow members of this board how irritating such a situation can be...

Well you might not but there's a lot of "Decendants" out there especially where you live that for some unexplained sniglet of the universe are more pro independence than anyone on the Island and yet they have never lived here nor do they intend do yet they advocate indepence for Puerto Rico as if it's something that concerns them when it doesn't. If you don't live here you have no business advocating what our social and political future should be and if you cannot understand this simple fact it is you who needs to grow up...

So what if they do? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If some belive it should be independant, then let them belive what they want, Regardless or what race they are or where they live. You dont have to live somewhere to have your own opinion on the subject. Regardless if its wrong. It's not like its our opinion in the end that counts, its the voice of the people whom live on the island. I'm pro commonwealth because its what I belive is right. Yes, some of the descendants are idiots but likewise are some whom live on the island. Filiberto was one of the worst I know about. After the FBI killed him it was people in Puerto Rico whom reacted, Not in the states. It irritates me when people stereotype others. Not all of us share the same beliefs.

Now here's the problem there are more "Boricuas" that are Pro independence and I mean hardcore Socialist and commies that live in the mainland that they are the island itself and those are actively seeking independence for the Island by any means even though they were not born here, they have never lived here nor have they even set foot in the island and worse of all they never intend too either but yet they think they are entitled to dictate our political future and I say to hell with them!

I understand where ya' coming from but the fact of the matter is, It doesnt matter what we think. It's the people on the island whom will decide their future. The only reason alot of puerto ricans from the states want independance is because their selfish. No just because some of us whom live on the states are selfish, You shouldnt go about beliving we all have the same attitude. Besides, As I see it, Pro-state and Pro-independance can do alot of harm to Puerto Rico in many diffrent ways. It's kinda a lose-lose situation. They might as well stay a common-wealth forever. Now, Do not make me list the side-effects of Pro-statehood... use google. It's your friend. well, ive made my point. Cambio y Fuera.
